Britney Spears and Her New Boyfriend
Rumors started in India and the UK, but just before New Year could set its foot firmly at the door US press confirmed the same – Britney Spears is dating again. And who’s the lucky guy? His name is Sandip Soparrkar, the choreographer involved in dance moves for Britney’s latest video “Womanizer”. Before choreographing Britney’s video, Sandip taught such pop divas as Madonna, Beyonce and Shakira how to dance. That’s probably why they all dance like they’d just eaten gay cookies.
Britney Spears has been under careful watch of the paparazzi and the media, but this time around she managed to sneak off to India without anyone noticing. It would appear that the unexpected visit to South Asia was in connection to her new video, but many speculate that there is more than just choreography between the two.
Indian media caught up with the couple and asked about possible romance, but both avoided straight answers with charm. Britney Spears simply said that “Sandip is a very handsome man” while Sandip took the whole mind tease to a whole new level by stating that “I am planning to do the rumba, which is a dance of love”.
So who exactly is this mysterious Sandip Soparrkar? He has an MBA in Marketing, but it’s not his education that got him to work with some of the most famous contemporary pop singers. Sandip was a model for Phoenix A4 shoes in 1999 and in 2000 went up to represent India at the International Male Model pageant. Prior to that, Sandip Soparrkar won the title of India’s first Mr. Young Turk which was came after he made it to the finals for the Graviera Mr. India contest.
While the name of Sandip Soparrkar is only starting to make its way throughout western hemisphere – thanks to involvement with Britney Spears – he’s well known in his home country. For one he’s a well respected Bollywood choreographer and locals consider him hot. That probably involves both boys and girls.
Indian media claim that Sandip is very down to Earth and keeps Britney on the leash. He’s very spiritual, which is one of very things Britney finds attractive about him. They’d already spent Christmas together and exchanged presents like any other couple. While still in denial in front of media, there seems to be a spark between the two that’s more than just work. We’ll see what move Daddy Spears who’s been Britney’s conservator and guardian since her breakdown takes. He put restraining order on her previous boyfriend and may do the same with Sandip Soparrkar. Unless Sandip impresses him with something and Daddy Spears unexpectedly approves.

Should the boyfriend of Britney Spears's younger sister be prosecuted for sex with a minor?
Her younger sister is only 16 yrs oldm while her boyfriend appears to be 18 yrs old. It appears that there was recently news about a black boy imprisoned for many years for having sex with a minor.

Yes he should…but since she is famous he won’t be.

No, what’s the difference between a 16yo and a 19 yo. Most women reach sexual maturity at 15! It’s not like he rapped her. As long as it’s consensual that’s all that matters. 16 year old girls have sex all the time. What’s the difference if she has sex with a 16 year old who can pass as an 18 year old. Or an 18 year old who can pass as a 16 year old. The only reason people think it’s sick is because society has brainwashed them to think so. Look at ancient Greece back then men had sex with boys. I think that’s sick myself, but that’s probably because it’s been instilled in my head what’s right and what’s wrong.

I think the Spears girls parents need to be prosecuted for not paying attention to their kids.

If the girl parents approved they consented for her, if she is emancipated she is legally an adult.

he’s actually 19. She met him at church. Her mother knew about it and claimed that they had been dating "for years"(kinda strange).
but no, he should not be prosecuted, especially because he is not 4 years or older than the girl (the guy has to be more than 4 years older than the girl when she reaches 16), and because the mother knew about it "for years."
AND I hear that they are not even "a couple", so basically Britney Spears’ sister Jamie Lynn is learning how to be a skank from her sister.

If he committed statutory rape, then yes. This should also not be in the news. It happens all the time in the inner cities, and doesn’t make the news.

I think that any sister of Britney has to be pretty messed up and it wasn’t only his fault. it takes two to tango. the whole idea of bringing up charges for having sex with a minor seems pretty ridiculous to me (except of course rape and other situations like that).

yes, just because he’s a "celebrity" or she is,
doesnt mean he should get any special treatment.
He should go to jail just like the boy that is in prison right now.
If its against the law, he should be punished just like any normal old joe would. I dont know why anyone even has a question about prosecuting him or not.

I believe sex with a minor is only illegal if someone presses charges. He might be a great guy her parents love. I dated a 17 yr old when I was 21 and her family loved me.

He should be, but he probably won’t be. And you’re right, I heard about the black boy who was imprisoned. His name was Genarlow Williams, I think.

From what I have read, no. In Louisiana (where they apparently live) 15 yrs of age is the legal age of consent (if they are within two years of age). So he has legally done nothing wrong. I can’t say I agree with their morals, but no one has the right to prosecute them for that.

It depends on the state law.
I don’t think he should be.
If two people are (or could have been) in high school at the same time, and both consent then it’s not a sex crime.
It should never be illegal for a high school Senior to date a Freshmen.

Yes he should be. Any other normal guy and girl in a situation like this where one is much older or considered an adult (Casey is 19), it would be illegal and the person would be prosecuted. Celebs shouldn’t be given any special treatment in drunk driving, illegal drug use, AND statutory rape.

In most areas the age of consent is actually 16 years old NOT 18. So no crime has been committed.

Age of consent in Cali is 18. A parent can not consent for a minor child to have sex. If Jamie Lynn had filed for emancipation we would all know that.
He should be prosecuted.

The age difference is none. She’s a kid and he’s a kid. And at sixteen she’s legally old enough to have consentual sex. But you’re just being provocative, right?

If, as reported, she is 16 and he is 19, then he can be prosecuted under Louisiana law. The charge would be a felony – "Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile"
"ยง80. Felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
A. Felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile is committed when:
(1) A person who is nineteen years of age or older has sexual intercourse, with consent, with a person who is twelve years of age or older but less than seventeen years of age, when the victim is not the spouse of the offender;"
The maximum penalty for this crime is up to 10 years in State Prison.
To Patrick….. yours would be a VERY bad idea. If she says they crossed a State line and had sex in another State, then that’s a violation of Federal law. Under Federal law there’s a fixed age of 18, and no "Romeo and Juliet" exemptions. He’d be facing a Federal felony.
To make matters worse, Louisiana could STILL prosecute him and if the jury didn’t believe that they never even once had sex in LA, he could be convicted of BOTH crimes.

He has legally broken the statute in Louisiana, but will most likely not be prosecuted. If she wants to protect him, she merely has to say the sex took place in another state. The state can not prove he was involved with her sexually in the state, without her statement.

Yes, the boyfriend should be tried and sentenced to the max for statutory rape. But, Money and Fame goes a long way in our society.

Yes, I think so. He is LEGALLY an adult and having sex with a minor is a crime even if you have sex with a celebrity.

It depends upon the laws of the state in which the sex act occurred. If it is Louisiana, the age of consent for females is 17, but there may be additional provisions re: the age difference between the male and female that would also make it non-criminal.
